NPC Lord/companion death rate seems to be pretty friggin high when you participate in a fight, so I just have them assigned to division VIII and have them retreat by pressing 8 + F1 + F7 when a big battle is about to start.

When I started the game, I set it up to auto allocate perks for my companions. Now that IO understand the game better, I'd like to change that, but I don't see it in the options menu. Go to her encyclopedia page and see where she was last seen. Go around and find her party. When you talk to her on campaign map, pick 'Inspect your troop' option and take all the good ones from her. Now go to clan menu and disband her party. Go to encyclopedia page and check where she is and go there and pick her up. true.
Most potential companions can be found in taverns and inns. In Mount and Blade 2 Bannerlord, companions can always be found in inns. Simply visit a tavern in any city (you don’t have to enter, just select the tavern option in campaign mode) to check if there are any potential companions available, as shown in the above screenshot.
